Where it all began.
In the beginning, a 14-year-old girl flew to Kenya and took photos to show children what they looked like. When she heard sponsorship was a need she knew this was her part to play and realized Blue Door was God’s plan all along!
Blue Door must have been God’s plan all along as He has grown the program from a dream of a 14-year-old under a mosquito net in Africa to a 501©3 non-profit that has rescued thousands of hopeless children from the streets in Kenya. At the same time, Blue Door funds teachers and staff, connects countless sponsors from around the world with Blue Door Christian Academy and exists to Rescue and Raise Up a generation in Kenya all while making the name of Jesus known!
Abby Fegtly, Founder
Abby has managed to take the innocent belief of a child that, “All Things Are Possible,” add sheer determination when that belief was challenged, surround herself with wise counsel, and through her faith in God, grow a dream she had at 14 into a reality that is impacting hundreds of scholars in Kenya. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Abby finished her degree in Business Management with an emphasis in International Business. She has moved with Blue Door to Kenya for full time operations.
